Your Guide to Cystic Acne

Cystic acne is a painful form of acne that often requires medical attention. It is a severe form of acne which happens to both genders. When cysts develop under your skin, it causes this severe acne. It is common among teens and people with oily skin.

Cystic acne forms when bacteria, oil, and dry skin combines under the skin. The cystic acne gets trapped in the pores. Cystic acne is filled with pus and sometimes looks like a hard boil. It’s a swelling caused by bacteria which happens in the middle layer when infected. Stress, menopause, and hormonal changes during teenage or adolescent age are significant causes of cystic acne. There is a high level of androgen production during the teenage age. It also affects sebum production, and when the pores get clogged and trap dirt, it leads to cystic acne.

Sometimes, cystic acne looks like a red lump under the skin. It’s as tiny as a pea, and the white pus makes it painful and tender to touch. A breakout of cystic acne can happen in different parts of the body. It mainly occurs at the back, neck, chest and face because it has the most oil gland.

Cystic acne can be challenging to handle. Most times, it requires medical attention depending on the level of severity. There are some ways to prevent cystic acne.

1. A mild soapless or foam cleanser should replace your bath’s harsh soap. Instead of using a sponge on your face, it is better to use a cotton washcloth. Wash your face at least three times a day. Ensure you use warm water and be gentle not to cause any harm to your face.

2. After a long day out, clean your face with a cotton pad and shea butter. Make sure to use non-comedogenic products on your skin. Also, avoid sleeping with make-up on your face. Remember, dirt is one of the major causes of cystic acne.

3. Some products recommended medically for cystic acne can be drying. Make sure you always use a moisturiser. It is best to use an all-natural and oil-free moisturiser for your face.

4. Don’t pick on the pimples. It will only keep your acne open to infections and bacteria. Please keep your hands away from your face, no matter how tempting it can be.

Your diet plays a significant role in the treatment and appearance of cystic acne. However, there are home remedies for managing cystic acne. Before you go ahead with these remedies, make sure you talk with your dermatologist.

An ice pack will reduce the swelling caused by cystic acne. Ice will reduce the redness and swelling, but it does not take cystic acne away. When you put an ice wrap on the acne, it constricts the blood vessels in that area. It will reduce the pain that comes with cystic acne. While reducing the swelling, it makes the acne less noticeable. When next your cystic acne becomes itchy or starts to trouble you, use an ice pack on it as it will create a numbing effect.

There are certain foods to help you get rid of acne. Refined foods and fast food worsen your acne. Try to add oats, healthy fats, whole grains and more vegetables to your diet. Diet generally affects hormones, and it can make acne worse. Also, take more water to keep you hydrated on the inside. Replace processed drinks and ice cream with water. When you have the proper diet, it will reduce the appearance of cystic acne.

Spot treatment can also help reduce cystic acne. Ensure your doctor recommends the right product for this procedure. Also, eat your probiotics as it creates a connection between your gut health and skin condition.

Yoghurts are a great source of probiotics. They help to decrease skin inflammation and also improve the general health of the skin.

There are topical treatments that can help you get rid of cystic acne fast. While these home remedies will help control the appearance of cystic acne, it is best to visit your dermatologist. Unlike other types of acne, cystic acne can get easily infected.

The Clumsy Wife

When you were asked about your swollen right eye, you said you sleepwalked and hit your face against the wall. We all said sorry and asked you to get well soon. A few days after, it was your chin that was shifted to the side. In response, you blamed it again in your clumsiness and that you feel off the bed. You are a grown woman in her late 30's. This time, we had questions that we couldn't dare to ask you. Weeks later, you were limping and you assured us that it was your clumsiness that made you fall down the stairs. At this point, we faced our business and wished you all the best. 2 months later, you're lying in a golden casket, 6 feet under the ground.  The autopsy read that you died from a deep gash on your forehead, probably a hit from the bloody plank of wood that was found beside your corpse. At this point, you want to talk. You wanted to say it all. But it's too late. Your husband claimed you hit your head on the plank, and we all believed him because you told u

She Must Be Obeyed Movie Review

I don't understand Funke Akindele's obsession with the music industry Sha. She is always trying to project the industry one way or the other - we have Industreet already. On this new one Sha, I don't know how to feel about it.  This storyline is great. The life of a Celebrity musician behind the camera and in front of the camera. But the directing get as e be. The movie just dey anyhow. But the acting from some cast made up for the 'anyhowness'. Bishop (Okon) was amazing. Lateef was great. Gayness doesn't fit Akah. He shouldn't try it again. Vee tried small. I don't understand what Ali Nuhu was acting. Lizzy Jay sef dey vex person. The entire Rachael Okonkwo family weren't it at all. Mama Gee no try at all. Don't give her a drunk role again. Nancy Isime was Nancy Isime, Just there. Shaffy Bello was great as always. In all, I will give it a 4/10.

Big Love Movie Review

While this movie tried not to be your regular Nollywood Romantic movie, I still got annoyed at some small small mistakes that I saw. Inkblot is too big for some mistakes that were present in this movie. Overall, Big Love is nice. It's a movie that would take you through a rollercoaster of emotions. The beginning was quite not it.  Most of the dialogues got me rolling my eyes, like warahell. Casting was great. Storyline was amazing Directing wasn't coordinated. There were scenes that looked rushed and scattered. PS - VJ Adams should just leave Bimbo for Timini. Their chemistry is mind-blowing. Timini had grown as an actor. And it's great to see. Aunty Shaffy is great, as always. Overall, I'd give it an 8/10.
