Building Collapses, killing Pregnant Woman and Child.

In Onifufu/Aderupaba at Oke-Ijeun, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, an expectant mother and her five-year-old daughter were crushed to death by a building that collapsed on them yesterday.

Reports reaching us said that the late Mrs. Kafayat Somoye was taking her daughter,
the late Ganiyat and son, Ganiyu, to school when the building collapsed. Ganiyu was said to be walking in front of his mother and sister.

But he was quick to move out of harm's way when he heard the sound of vibrations and cracks but his mother and sister were not lucky. The victims died on the way to the General Hospital Ijaye, Abeokuta, after sympathisers had pulled them out of the the debris.

The incident enraged the youths of the area but they were calmed down by policemen from Ibara and Oke- Itoku divisions.

An eyewitness, Kabirat Sonde, who was taking her kid to school, said they
escaped by the whiskers.

“I was also taking my child to school. I was behind them and a woman
was in the front. It was the woman who raised the alarm immediately the
incident occurred before help came.

“She was rescued alive and people started pouring water on her but she died
on her way to the hospital. People didn’t know immediately that there was a
girl trapped, it was the woman who told us but it was too late. The girl
was found dead.”

Another eyewitness, Tajudeen Badru, told reporters that the early morning
downpour yesterday probably weakened the structure.

Badru said: “It happened early this morning (yesterday) as the woman was
taking her child to the school. Although we heard the girl is no
t her daughter
but there were two of them. The elder brother was faster; the woman was
trying to save the girl.

“This building was still very intact as it gave no sign of collapsing but the
heavy rain yesterday might have caused this collapse.

“It was a sudden occurrence. A woman who escaped told us that people
were trapped and we removed the woman before the same woman also told
us that the deceased was with a young girl, we later searched and found the girl.

Sista Movie Review

The opening scene did me in. I read somewhere that the first few 5 minutes of a movie determines if it is worth it.  Trust me, Sista movie hooked me in less than 5 minutes. I loved the straight to the point opening. No show of the Third Mainland Bridge. No lazy show of Lagos traffic. Nothing. Also, the past/present sequence made crazy sense.  Seeing Kehinde Bankole in that role is refreshing, it's not what she is used to, but she did well. Chimezie was quite not in character, or maybe he didn't bond with Ade Herself. I don't know. He is better than what I saw him act here. As usual Aunty Ronke Oshodi Oke gave it her all. This Tope Owokoniran babe tried with her Hausa accent. I love it!!! I think this is the best of her I have seen so far. I'd say this is a movie Aunty Biodun Stephen put her everything to make. This is a beautiful work of art. I love every piece of it. The story line is dope. Directing is flawless. The fun part was that even though It was predictable f...

Ijakumo Movie Review

Whatever this movie was set to give, it didn't give.  Even the stripping is not giving. Why is the Sharon girl sex talking like she is doing spoken words???  I liked the babe in "Listening Ears", but I feel she is not 'mature' enough theatrically for this role. Wait, what I noticed was that Toyin and her crew didn't know there was a girl who looks like the Sharon girl in his church. A very crazy error that no director should make. If they had come in with this, maybe the finding out they were twin bla BLA BLA suspense would suspense well. But as the director or script writer were very myopic, the twin shii didn't hold water. If they had said or showed that they picked the Ugandan girl because she looked like the Nigerian girl in his church, e for make perfect sense. Seriously, I am miffed. The only thing that thrilled me was Kunle Remi and his lines. O mard gan. 🤣🤣🤣 "Emi mimo ni kin gbenu sohun". 🤣🤣🤣 "So, idi Uganda lo Fe baye mi j...

The Black Book Movie Review

Chaos is what you get when you try to film movies like Hollywood without doing your homework well.  That kidnapping scene is one of the most chaotic and unorganized crime scenes ever. Like WTH!! Moving on, we have RMD and Olumide bonding that didn't give the vibes they were gunning for. Then the scene where Sam Dede called Bimbo Akintola on the phone asking who he should kill. Please what's the job of the two police men that were present at the scene? What's their work? Are they aesthetics? I expected them to go close to her immediately they realized she was communicating with the kidnappers. No, they stood like they were visitors checking family album. Mchew. It was after the conversation has ended that the soldier guy came to stand in front of her - like a mannequin.  Another thing, choice of soundtrack was shitty. What's "omo mi Seun rere" doing in that beach scene. I am rolling my eyes. All those half half conversations that were flying up and down, na r...
