Osun Assembly To Pass Bil Against Street Trading and Illegal Markets.

The Osun House of Assembly is about to pass a bill against street trading and illegal markets in the state.

The Speaker of the House, Mr Najeem Salaam, said this at plenary in
Osogbo during the consideration of a bill on street trading and illegal
markets.

Salaam said it would become an offence for any person to engage in
street trading or to operate an illegal market in the state once the bill was
passed into law.

He said the law would ensure a clean environment, adding that this was
one of the cardinal aims of the government.

Salaam, who noted that street trading had claimed many lives on the
highways, added that the bill, when passed, would check this.

“This bill is meant to ensure that we cleanse our environment and this will
portray us as serious people who understand the importance of cleanliness.

“When it becomes law, it will take care of the welfare and hygiene of our
people and also secure the lives of the people that hawk on the highways,’’
he said.

According to the bill, anyone caught engaging in street hawking as a first
offender will pay N2,000 fine without imprisonment.

The bill also stated that a second offender will pay N3,000 fine without
imprisonment while a third offender would pay N5,000 fine or face three
months imprisonment.

Towns which the bill will take effect from are Osogbo, Ede, Ile-Ife,
Ilesa, Iwo and Ikire,
Others are Ikirun, Ila-Orangun and Ejigbo, with an authority to be given to
the governor to extend it to other towns. .

Sista Movie Review

The opening scene did me in. I read somewhere that the first few 5 minutes of a movie determines if it is worth it.  Trust me, Sista movie hooked me in less than 5 minutes. I loved the straight to the point opening. No show of the Third Mainland Bridge. No lazy show of Lagos traffic. Nothing. Also, the past/present sequence made crazy sense.  Seeing Kehinde Bankole in that role is refreshing, it's not what she is used to, but she did well. Chimezie was quite not in character, or maybe he didn't bond with Ade Herself. I don't know. He is better than what I saw him act here. As usual Aunty Ronke Oshodi Oke gave it her all. This Tope Owokoniran babe tried with her Hausa accent. I love it!!! I think this is the best of her I have seen so far. I'd say this is a movie Aunty Biodun Stephen put her everything to make. This is a beautiful work of art. I love every piece of it. The story line is dope. Directing is flawless. The fun part was that even though It was predictable f...

Ijakumo Movie Review

Whatever this movie was set to give, it didn't give.  Even the stripping is not giving. Why is the Sharon girl sex talking like she is doing spoken words???  I liked the babe in "Listening Ears", but I feel she is not 'mature' enough theatrically for this role. Wait, what I noticed was that Toyin and her crew didn't know there was a girl who looks like the Sharon girl in his church. A very crazy error that no director should make. If they had come in with this, maybe the finding out they were twin bla BLA BLA suspense would suspense well. But as the director or script writer were very myopic, the twin shii didn't hold water. If they had said or showed that they picked the Ugandan girl because she looked like the Nigerian girl in his church, e for make perfect sense. Seriously, I am miffed. The only thing that thrilled me was Kunle Remi and his lines. O mard gan. 🤣🤣🤣 "Emi mimo ni kin gbenu sohun". 🤣🤣🤣 "So, idi Uganda lo Fe baye mi j...

The Black Book Movie Review

Chaos is what you get when you try to film movies like Hollywood without doing your homework well.  That kidnapping scene is one of the most chaotic and unorganized crime scenes ever. Like WTH!! Moving on, we have RMD and Olumide bonding that didn't give the vibes they were gunning for. Then the scene where Sam Dede called Bimbo Akintola on the phone asking who he should kill. Please what's the job of the two police men that were present at the scene? What's their work? Are they aesthetics? I expected them to go close to her immediately they realized she was communicating with the kidnappers. No, they stood like they were visitors checking family album. Mchew. It was after the conversation has ended that the soldier guy came to stand in front of her - like a mannequin.  Another thing, choice of soundtrack was shitty. What's "omo mi Seun rere" doing in that beach scene. I am rolling my eyes. All those half half conversations that were flying up and down, na r...
