President vows to end mass killings and abductions of Nigerians.

The president made the pledge in his Easter message to the nation.

He said that his administration was determined to achieve peace and security
across the nation by ending the avoidable conflicts and crises that hindered
national progress.

He said already the nation’s security apparatus were being reformed and
empowered to win the war against terrorism and other criminal activities across
the country.

He said that the unfortunate incidences in recent years where the blood of men,
women and children are wantonly and callously shed in frequent orgies of
criminal, political, ethnic and religious violence had become embarrassing and
unacceptable.

``My administration is determined to achieve peace and security across our nation
by ending the avoidable conflicts and crises that hinder our national progress.

``I ask for the support of all Nigerians in this regard. We must put a stop to
politically motivated killings.

``Our communities must be made safe again for all inhabitants to live together in
peace and harmony.

``Our armed forces, police and other security agencies are being progressively
reformed, repositioned and empowered to win the war against terrorism and make
mass killings, abductions and other criminal atrocities things of the past in our
beloved country.

``Let us all also play our parts as patriotic citizens and do all that we can to
ensure that we make Nigeria a safer, more peaceful and happier place for its
people and others,’’ he said.

The president, who rejoiced with Nigerians, especially Christian brothers and
sisters, who were celebrating Easter, urged them to imbibe the essential message
of Jesus Christ, who repeatedly urged his disciples and followers to ``love one
another as I have loved you."

``As we celebrate Easter this year, I sincerely believe that it will serve our dear
nation very well if we all imbibe this essential message of Jesus Christ and truly
learn to love our countrymen and women as we love ourselves.

``Indeed, we will surely make faster progress towards the achievement of the
peaceful, united, strong, progressive and prosperous country we all desire if, as
a nation, we eschew all divisive, parochial, ethnic and religious sentiments and
rivalries, and begin to live more harmoniously with our compatriots, as Jesus
Christ and the founders of the world's other great religions enjoined mankind.’’

According to the president, faith, belief and the fulfillment of expectations are
also key themes of the Easter celebration.
He urged Nigerians to continue to have faith in the future greatness of the
nation and believe that the change his administration promised would surely come
to fruition.

``That change, which we all yearn for, will certainly occur more rapidly if we all
place the love of our country above selfish personal and group interests.’’

Buhari reassured Nigerians that his administration would ensure that the 2016
budget recently passed by the National Assembly would be efficiently and
successfully implemented to achieve the objective of faster economic growth and
development.

While thanking Nigerians for their patience and understanding in the first ten
months of his administration, Buhari assured that the Federal Government would
continue to work ``very hard to overcome the challenges he encountered on
assumption of office.

``We are moving on with an unshaken resolve and determination to deliver on the
mandate you gave us on March 28, last year.
``I wish you all happy Easter celebrations.’’

Sista Movie Review

The opening scene did me in. I read somewhere that the first few 5 minutes of a movie determines if it is worth it.  Trust me, Sista movie hooked me in less than 5 minutes. I loved the straight to the point opening. No show of the Third Mainland Bridge. No lazy show of Lagos traffic. Nothing. Also, the past/present sequence made crazy sense.  Seeing Kehinde Bankole in that role is refreshing, it's not what she is used to, but she did well. Chimezie was quite not in character, or maybe he didn't bond with Ade Herself. I don't know. He is better than what I saw him act here. As usual Aunty Ronke Oshodi Oke gave it her all. This Tope Owokoniran babe tried with her Hausa accent. I love it!!! I think this is the best of her I have seen so far. I'd say this is a movie Aunty Biodun Stephen put her everything to make. This is a beautiful work of art. I love every piece of it. The story line is dope. Directing is flawless. The fun part was that even though It was predictable f...

Ijakumo Movie Review

Whatever this movie was set to give, it didn't give.  Even the stripping is not giving. Why is the Sharon girl sex talking like she is doing spoken words???  I liked the babe in "Listening Ears", but I feel she is not 'mature' enough theatrically for this role. Wait, what I noticed was that Toyin and her crew didn't know there was a girl who looks like the Sharon girl in his church. A very crazy error that no director should make. If they had come in with this, maybe the finding out they were twin bla BLA BLA suspense would suspense well. But as the director or script writer were very myopic, the twin shii didn't hold water. If they had said or showed that they picked the Ugandan girl because she looked like the Nigerian girl in his church, e for make perfect sense. Seriously, I am miffed. The only thing that thrilled me was Kunle Remi and his lines. O mard gan. 🤣🤣🤣 "Emi mimo ni kin gbenu sohun". 🤣🤣🤣 "So, idi Uganda lo Fe baye mi j...

The Black Book Movie Review

Chaos is what you get when you try to film movies like Hollywood without doing your homework well.  That kidnapping scene is one of the most chaotic and unorganized crime scenes ever. Like WTH!! Moving on, we have RMD and Olumide bonding that didn't give the vibes they were gunning for. Then the scene where Sam Dede called Bimbo Akintola on the phone asking who he should kill. Please what's the job of the two police men that were present at the scene? What's their work? Are they aesthetics? I expected them to go close to her immediately they realized she was communicating with the kidnappers. No, they stood like they were visitors checking family album. Mchew. It was after the conversation has ended that the soldier guy came to stand in front of her - like a mannequin.  Another thing, choice of soundtrack was shitty. What's "omo mi Seun rere" doing in that beach scene. I am rolling my eyes. All those half half conversations that were flying up and down, na r...
